The Long Road Home

February 23, 2009

Long flights are truly exhausting.  I just got back from Los Angeles late last night.  We had a terrific conference.  I often learn as much from the attendees as I offer in my seminars.  Although I’ve been teaching at the LA conference for the past 8 years this was the first time I took advantage of the weather and went out for a run with a colleague.

We did 4.5 to 5 miles on Saturday afternoon around the hotel.  Unfortunately, due to heavy traffic we had to run on concrete.  I can say that it was the first time I allowed myself to do so since returning to running last June.  Its amazing how the mid-foot landing reduces the impact stresses.  My feet would’ve hurt for a week in the past.

I’m happy to be home.  We have a big 6-week reassessment for Bootcamp members this afternoon.  Everyone will get to see how their efforts paid off.  I’m excited for everyone b/c I think we’re going to see some dramatic changes!
